Ectoin Hydra Serum gives thirsty skin moisture that stays put, and fewer fine lines. The serum strengthens the skin's barrier, so moisture does not disappear a couple of hours after your moisturiser, and skin feels plump rather than tight.
The serum is built around PDRN, short fragments of DNA that many people know from clinics, where PDRN is taken from salmon. Our PDRN comes from barley sprouts, and in a study PDRN raised skin moisture by 78% and reduced wrinkle depth by 31% in four weeks. Ectoin holds water in place, and ceramides reduce water loss through the skin. And the moisture arrives straight away: in a study, the algae collagen in the serum gave about 25% more moisture in the skin after just 10 minutes, against about 16.5% with placebo.
The silky gel-cream has a soft pink tint that comes from the formula itself, not from a colourant. The gel-cream absorbs quickly and sits well under makeup. Use the serum morning and evening. Fragrance-free, dermatologically tested and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor or midwife before use.

Materials and recycling
Packaging is the part of the product you throw away. That is why we spend time on it.
The tube itself on Niacinamide Serum is made with 63% post-consumer recycled plastic: plastic that has already been used and collected, rather than newly made. The cap, and the rest of our bottles and tubes, are still virgin plastic, and that is the part we are working on.
Not everything is plastic. Some products come in glass, others in aluminium. The aluminium in the Niacinamide Hand Balm tube is 95% recycled. Both can be melted down and used again many times over.
Our outer cartons are paper.
How to sort it
Plastic bottles, tubes, pumps and caps: plastic. They do not need to be clean.

Why it works
Dehydrated skin is not the same as dry skin. Dry skin lacks oil. Dehydrated skin lacks water, because the barrier is weakened and cannot hold on to it. A richer cream does not solve that.
